Before applying for the EVOA Bali (Electronic Visa on Arrival), make sure you meet all the requirements. Missing or incorrect documentation is the most common cause of application delays and rejections. Here is the complete checklist for 2026.
Passport Requirements
Your passport must:
- Be valid for at least 6 months from your planned arrival date in Indonesia
- Have at least one blank page for the entry stamp
- Be in good physical condition – no significant damage to pages or the biometric chip
- Be issued by an eligible country
- Be a standard machine-readable passport (MRP) – temporary or emergency passports are generally not accepted
Passport Photo Requirements
The online application requires a passport-style photo that meets these standards:
- Recent (taken within the last 6 months)
- White or light neutral background
- Full face clearly visible, centered in frame
- No sunglasses, hats, or head coverings (except for religious reasons)
- Neutral expression, mouth closed
- JPEG or PNG format, minimum 200×200 pixels, maximum 2MB
Passport Scan Requirements
Upload a clear scan or high-resolution photograph of your passport biodata page:
- All text must be clearly legible – no blur, glare, or shadows
- Entire page visible, including Machine Readable Zone (MRZ – the two lines of code at the bottom)
- Flat, not curved – place on a flat surface to photograph
- JPEG or PNG, maximum 2MB
Travel Documents Required
- Return or onward ticket – proof you plan to leave Indonesia within your visa period
- Accommodation details – hotel name, address, or booking confirmation for at least the first night
- Valid email address – for account creation and receiving your approved EVOA
Financial Requirements
No specific bank statement is required for the EVOA application itself. However, Indonesian immigration officers can ask for proof of sufficient funds at the border. A general guideline is having access to at least USD 1,000-1,500 for a 30-day stay. Border officers may also ask to see your return ticket and accommodation bookings.
Payment Card Requirements
To pay the IDR 500,000 (~$30 USD) EVOA fee:
- Card type: Visa, Mastercard, or JCB
- Must have 3D Secure enabled
- Must allow international online transactions

Additional 2026 Entry Requirements
